General Description: | Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting close functions. Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate business result. Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements, and activities of external auditors. Provide management with budget information and other information vital to the decision-making process. Assess current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes. Evaluate accounting and internal control systems. Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database as needed. Assist in the hiring, training, and retention of competent accounting staff. |

Work Experience: | 5 to 10 years of accounting experience including supervision of employees. Minimum of five (5) years of job-related experience in the heavy civil construction industry. Knowledge of Union based payroll. |
Education: | Bachelor’s degree in business administration, (CPA), (MBA in accounting or finance)) or (CMA) a significant plus. Knowledge of GAAP. |
