Job Description - Project Engineer with Multi-Family exp needed in Seattle/Tacoma, WA Summary/Objective: The project engineer position is responsible for all engineering technical disciplines that projects involve. You will plan, budget, forecast and manage all the technical activities of the construction project from conception to completion as well as oversee document flow and organization. Essential Functions: Review construction drawings, plans and proposals then work with management to develop project objectives. Determine project phases and priorities. Review and study project design, customer requirements and determine project specifications. Present costs estimates and performance standards. Calculate time frames and sequence of stages of construction. Perform take off work by hand or using software. Contact subcontractors to receive bids. Review contractor bids and find ways to lower the budget. Participate in subcontractor selection. Participate in project coordination through different forms on communication. Offer solution if needed. Prepare status reports and regularly monitors budget, contractors and schedules. Keep an accurate record of all work on every project. Manage, create and distribute project documents. Communicate with subcontractors any details or requirements per project documentation. Interpret and reviews projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations. Interpret and explains plans and contract terms to staff, workers, clients and their representatives, vendors, owners and developers. Develop and implements quality control programs. Take action plans to deal with the results of delays. Participate in daily, weekly, monthly and annual planning process as appropriate. Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of this position. Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other company employees. Project a favorable image of the company to promote its goals and objectives. Participate in new project bidding and prospecting. Maintain good working relationships with all old, new and current clients, vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and others. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
