Our client in Irvine is looking for an Assistant Superintendent! They are considered one of the most reputable general contractors that serve both public and private markets- multi-family, higher education, restaurant, retail, municipal and more.

Responsibilities:

Provide on-site supervision and work under the direction of the superintendent, who leads the efforts of both regular employees and subcontractors.

Records of the work carried out and any safety issues should be kept in an organized manner, as the superintendent may be given a budget to be met. Prior to a job being carried out, the assistant superintendent may be responsible for creating cost analyses and feasibility studies, and while jobs are in progress, reports regarding things such as quality of output and progress must be created.

Some of the work, such as record-keeping, report-writing, analyses, and communication efforts may be done in an office, so computer skills are necessary in this position, though much of the work is done outside while supervising construction progress and they may occasionally be exposed to uncomfortable weather, such as extreme heat. Some assistant construction superintendents may also be expected to carry out some construction duties personally. Years of prior work and leadership experience are generally required for this position, and strong customer service skills are also important to work directly with clients and possibly play a role in securing jobs.

Qualifications:

If you feel like you have the qualities and experience we are looking for, feel free to send us your resume and someone from our team will be reaching out to you!

  • Has at least 5-10 years of experience in construction.
  • B.S. Civil Engineering, B.S. Construction Management, Architecture or similar 4 year degree.
  • Experience in Building Construction.
  • Knowledge of construction trades, construction scheduling, and engineering principles and techniques, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Extensive knowledge of various design and construction means, methods and materials, their characteristics, and installation procedures.
