JOB SUMMARY

The Sr Production Engineer is responsible for establishing and defining technical work scope for company owned equipment requiring preventive maintenance and refurbishment at the facility. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Prepare and issue technical work scopes, ensuring they contain appropriate instructions to carry out the tasks.

·         Work with project engineering to finish/drive projects at Mill/Paste.

·         Write and manage MOC’s, implement changes, complete associated PSSR’s and follow up with documentation.

·         Troubleshoot plant performance issues and lead investigation.

·         Manage reagent dosage rates, track for optimizing circuit.

·         Identify operational improvements to improve cost, uptime or unit performance.

·         Issue reports for test work and plant studies and present to management.

·         Analyze analytical data and track trends – 4 hr Mill Grabs/ 24hr Mill Composites.

·         Review and track log sheets – Mill/Paste e-logs/Paper logs.

·         Train operators, new engineers and new shifters.

·         Coordinate with training department and help create training materials.

·         Track unit production and report progress in daily operations meetings.

·         Completes any other tasks as needed or as directed by management.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

·         Minimum 5 to 10 years of chemical, mining, petroleum, production or heavy industrial experience required.

·         Prior experience in process design and process flow diagrams.

·         Experience with the following ops preferred: acid wash techniques, defining type of acid and concentration, piping schemes, washing schedules and personal safety elements.

·         Experience preferred in understanding of different types of chemistries and behavior under several operational parameters to define variables for process development.

·         Experience in process control plan charts based on standards featuring key process variables, reaction plans and product quality control.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a science, chemical, mechanical engineering or a related field required.
  • Valid Driver’s License and a good driving record are required in order to drive company vehicles on property.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS

·         Knowledge of how to create, read and modify PFD’s and P&ID’s.

·         Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

·         Statistical software experience is preferred.

·         AutoCAD experience is preferred.

·         Excellent written and verbal skills required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Our facility is located about 45 minutes south of Las Vegas, Nevada and sits at an elevation of 4700 feet. Employees may be subject to extreme weather conditions in the winter and summer.    Work is in a mine or chemical processing plant setting, which may include potential exposure to moving mechanical parts, toxic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, fumes or airborne particles.
