Position Title: Safety Manager

 

Position Summary:  

The Safety Manager is responsible for providing leadership with the Safety and Risk Management Process (SRMP) a structured team environment.  This position is accountable for successful implementation of risk reduction, injury prevention, security protocols, and regulatory compliance initiatives in the largest manufacturing location.

 

Job Responsibilities: Specifically, responsibilities associated with this job opportunity will include, but are not limited to the following:

·         Conduct regular site inspections, recording all violations, noting what remediation needs to occur to keep the project moving forward safety

·         Coordinate daily safety planning and directives with the Construction Superintendents.

·         Assist with problem resolution.

·         Manage Site Safety Technicians and/or additional Site Safety Managers.

·         Understand, administer and enforce OSHA and other federal, state, and local standards, as well as company safety policies for the purpose of establishing a safe work environment on all projects.

·         Understand/Learn the operation of equipment, including safety equipment, in order to educate/train the field staff on the proper use and operation.

·         Coordinate the purchase and/or rental of all first aid supplies and equipment.

·         Establish purchasing thresholds with the Project Manager.

Job Requirement:

·         Minimum 3 years of experience required and underground utility background preferred.​ 

·         Certified OSHA 30

·         5 years’ experience in safety management

·         Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

 

Skills and Specifications:

·         Knowledge of governmental ES&H standards, rules, and regulations and proficiency in applying them to construction projects.

·         Working knowledge of safe work practices and experience in conducting accident investigations is highly desired

·         Advanced knowledge of and proficient with MS office products (Excel, Project, Words, Etc.)

Education and Qualifications:

·         Degree in Safety Management, ES&H Management or related science/construction field or equivalent experience/training.

·         First Aid/CPR

·         MSHA (surface), desired but not required

·         Competent Person Fall Protection
