Position Title: Construction Estimator

 

Position Summary:

The Construction Estimators are responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings, ensuring that we know everything required to successfully bid and win the project. Estimators must aggressively follow-up with subcontractors to ensure that bids are received. Estimators also work with the Project Management teams to follow-up on bids and budgets to close the business.

 

Job Responsibilities: Specifically, responsibilities associated with this job opportunity will include, but are not limited to the following:

·        Work with quantity surveyor to estimate the amount and type of material required to deliver the contracted specifications.

·        Estimate the cost of equipment and plant with the materials that are used.

·        Maintain the coordination with the engineers and site managers to help in predicting the duration of the project and the cost involved.

·        It will be the responsibility to establish the estimated completion rate and progress related to project.

·        Estimate the necessary reimbursements for bad weather conditions and other unpredictable events.

·        Calculate the final figure of the cost that will have to be incurred.

·        It will be the duty to present the necessary tender price to the seniors

·        The duty to determine the final project statistics by working on CAD applications.

·        Set the budget as well to provide with suitable plans.

·        To consult with the site managers and client about the blue prints by understanding them.

Job Requirement:

·         Minimum of 5 years of experience as an on-site construction manager.

·         Ability to walk and/or stand for long periods of time and the ability to lift up to 50lbs.

·         Working knowledge and comprehension of blueprints and plans, as well as construction management

·         Must be comfortable in both professional office and field work environments.

·         Being able to work with a team

·         Being proactive.

·         Having high attention to details.

 

Skills and Specifications:

·         Effective negotiation and communication skills

·         Having strong analytical skills

·         Being well versed in CAD applications.

·         Being able to handle large files with confidential data.

·         Having leadership and interpersonal skills.

·         Intermediate to Advanced level in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and Outlook)

 

Education and Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree or higher in a construction related discipline is desired
